A new milestone in German–Thai industrial cooperation: DSI Thailand Laser-Welding-Academy, which has a collaboration with German Welding Society DVS SLV Hannover has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty of Engineering of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) to introduce Pulsed Laser Welding as a university subject.
Pulse Laser Welding machine wise developed in Germany by global market leader ALPHA LASER and application wise developed in Thailand by DSI Laser Service and its Academy, this advanced technology will now be taught to future Thai engineers. The first lecture took place on 27 April. The cooperation highlights the growing importance of German high-tech solutions for Thailand’s key industries—from molds & dies repair, where the PLW-application has started 25 years ago, meanwhile applied to automotive, power generating, petrochemical, heavy industry and aerospace—and underlines the role of education in long-term industrial competitiveness.
A strong example of how GTCC member companies contribute to skills development and technology transfer in Thailand.
