In celebration of the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival, The St. Regis Bangkok unveils the first limited-edition mooncake collection, now available for pre-order, exclusively at The Lounge, located on the level 1 of the hotel. This year’s theme draws inspiration from the legendary tale of the Jade Rabbit and the Tiger — timeless symbols of grace, power, and protection — beautifully captured in an exclusive box designed by renowned Thai ceramist and painter, Bathma Kaew-Ngok.

This partnership reflects The St. Regis Bangkok’s dedication to champion local artists, echoing its commitment to community involvement and cultural celebration through support of craftsmanship and creative expression. This initiative serves as an artistic tribute to not only heritage but also legend for this year’s timeless occasion.

"This is our first mooncake collaboration at The St. Regis Bangkok, and we are excited to partner with Bathma Kaew-Ngok, the creator of this limited-edition package," remarks Dario Pithard, General Manager of The St. Regis Bangkok. "We strive to find fresh ways to delight our guests, which leads us to continually enhance our food and beverage offerings. This collaboration is particularly important to us as it demonstrates our commitment to engaging the local community and promoting emerging talents."

The gold mooncake box, featuring East Asian aesthetics, showcases Bathma’s signature design with his own favorite characters he drew, which are shown in other materials. Influenced by Japanese master potter Kanji Atarashi in Iga City, Bathma is well-known for ceramics. In this collaboration, he subtly refers a Mid-Autumn legend with the mythological Rabbit and Tiger from the story of the Jade Rabbit, sent by the moon goddess Chang’e to heal the world, while riding a tiger to deliver her cure. In Chinese culture, the rabbit is reverses as a symbol of resilience, hope, good fortune, and prosperity — values beautifully reflected in this year’s mooncake collection.

"I am truly delighted to collaborate closely with the St. Regis Bangkok team, who value my artistic work. This partnership holds a special significance for me as it allows me to explore various artistic mediums, transitioning from ceramics to paper, while expanding my horizon to a new approach - the packaging design. I am excited to witness the progress of the entire packaging development process, from initial discussions with the hotel team about the concept to the final product," says Bathma Kaew-Ngok, the local artist responsible for designing the mooncake packaging.

Presenting mooncakes is a time-honored tradition that reflects the spirit of reunion and shared blessings. Just as the full moon symbolizes harmony and completeness, gifting mooncakes conveys heartfelt wishes for togetherness, good fortune, and enduring relationships during this meaningful season. As part of this elegant ritual, The St. Regis Bangkok presents four traditional flavors for its 2025 mooncake collection, each weighing 80 grams and imbued with cultural meaning: Durian with a Single Egg Yolk, Lotus Seed with a Single Egg Yolk, Red Bean with a Single Egg Yolk, and Thai Tea with Almonds. Each ingredient in the mooncake collection carries its own auspicious significance. The egg yolk at the center is a golden emblem of prosperity and renewal, while the lotus seed reflects inner harmony and enlightened progress. Red bean, long associated with vitality, offers blessings of a long, healthy life.
